Eden Mission is to provide therapy and job skills training in a supportive environment with the goal of permanent employment opportunities at the completion of the program.
Your purchases make it possible for us to continue offering our survivors a chance to learn, grow and prepare for a successful life.
Survivors success in the program is dependent upon a few closely tied things: their personal commitment to both learning new skills and improving social interactions in the work place, plus sales to our wonderful customers who believe in our products and want to support the women in our program.
Eden Products is Restoration 1:99’s job readiness & economic empowerment program for survivors of complex trauma (trafficking, domestic violence, military trauma, community assaults, bullying, etc.). Eden's focus is to support trauma survivors as they learn to make hand-crafted home, bath & body products, made from the highest quality herbs and other natural ingredients. We open a new "book" of knowledge when we learn and implement the use of herbs into our lives. Each new "page" of information leads us to experience the benefits of natural/organic products. Our intention is to improve the health and well-being of our clients and customers by integrating more natural ways to heal into their daily lives.
We have discovered that many of our clients struggle to pass a basic background check, lack the skills for entry level employment, and are not participating in a healthy community in which healing can start. Being in nature, working with one’s hands, and creating beautiful products tie into one’s mental and physical wellbeing. Participants learn how to care for plants, the healing properties of herbs and spices and how to combine them into amazing products for their wellness, how to market them to the general public, and generate an income.
Complex trauma will almost certainly lead to chronic health issues such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, migraines, insomnia, gut issues, chronic nerve pain, fibromyalgia, etc. Medications will address one issue but may cause unpleasant side effects making the survivor question if medications are the right choice. This has propelled us to help them explore more natural ways to heal and increase their overall well-being.
